Allison Guilbault
Mindful Mental Health
Healing doesn't have to be slow to be sacred.
Hi, I’m Allison — Licensed Therapist, Global Thought Leader, and Unapologetic Truth-Teller.
I specialize in anxiety, trauma, and all things sex, intimacy, and embodiment—the deep, messy, powerful stuff most people are too afraid to touch. But not me. This is where I live.
I hold four degrees in psychology, mental health, human sexuality, and brain science—and for the last 15+ years, I’ve worked at the intersection of research, healing, and revolution. My work has taken me from the halls of New York University, Mt. Sinai, and the FBI to Planned Parenthood, Rikers Island, and the Sri Lankan National Institute of Mental Health—and every space in between where systems try to pathologize pain instead of listening to it.
I’m trained in CBT, DBT, EMDR, somatic processing, and mindfulness, but what truly sets my work apart is how I hold space—without judgment, without shame, and without forcing anyone into a one-size-fits-all model of healing.
I’m also the author of Yes, I Am Too Much—because for too long, women have been told to dim their light, soften their voice, and take up less space. My mission? To help women break free from that conditioning, reclaim their fire, and rise—fully, unapologetically, and without permission.
I strongly believe that the best therapy focuses on the humanness rather than the clinical. My approach is trauma-informed, body-based, client-centered, and radically inclusive. I work with clients from all walks of life — including folks often left out of traditional therapy spaces: queer folks, polyamorous partners, sex workers, survivors, rule breakers, and revolutionaries.
If you’ve been told you’re too much — I’m the one who says hell yes, more please.
In addition to weekly therapy, I also offer therapy intensives — deep, accelerated containers for transformation, designed for people who are ready to get unstuck now, have limited time, or haven’t gotten what they needed from traditional therapy.
Because therapy should feel like liberation — not limitation.

What is a Therapy Intensive?
Therapy intensive is like a VIP fast-pass to healing. Intensives offer time for a deep dive into treatment, away from interruptions, distractions, and the stop/start of classic weekly therapy.
This isn’t your once-a-week, sit-on-the-couch-and-recap-your-week kind of therapy. This is deep, focused, transformational work — concentrated into a powerful, immersive experience that gets to the root fast.
A therapy intensive is for the woman who’s ready to stop circling her pain and start moving through it. We collapse time, drop the small talk, and go all in on what’s keeping you stuck.
You don’t need another 50-minute session where you leave with more insight but no actual shift. You need real breakthroughs. Nervous system rewiring. Emotional release. And that’s what this is built for.
Who are Therapy Intensives for?
Therapy intensive might be great for you if you:
-
have limited availability
-
need a lot of flexibility
-
have not been able to find a weekly therapist
-
have done the work but still feel stuck in the same cycles
-
want to heal the root (now), not just manage the systems
-
have been through trauma, burnout, betrayal, or a life-shaking shift
-
you do not have time for slow healing- but you do have time for real change
-
want intensity, clarity, and depth in a safe, guided, container
What type of concerns/issues are addressed in Therapy Intensives?
Just like traditional therapy, there is a wide variety of reasons you might seek an intensive. Among them, clients have used intensives for:
-
Process trauma without reliving it
-
Unravel shame, guilt, and conditioning around sex, love, and self-worth
-
Release stuck grief, rage or fear that is stored in your b body
-
Rebuild trust in yourself, your body and your voice
-
Rewire your nervous system so you feel safe in your own skin and can finally take a breath of well-deserved and critically needed air
-
Map your boundaries, pleasure, and power from a place of truth
Can Therapy Intensives be more beneficial than traditional therapy?
Therapy Intensives can be more beneficial than traditional therapy because they:
-
are more solution-driven rather than explorative
-
reduce treatment time
-
have a less overall cost (due to less sessions)
- work around your schedule
- are not focused on daily stressors but hyper-focused on deep, core issues
- might employ techniques not offered in traditional therapy such as EMDR, visualizations, and in-session somatic processing
What do therapy intensives feel like?
-
Like exhaling for the first time in years
-
Like your body finally catching up on what your mind has been trying to understand
-
Like clarity, safety and self-ownership in one sacred place
How long are sessions and how many sessions do I need?
The beauty of therapy intensives? They’re fully customizable to fit your goals, your pace, and your healing journey.
Here’s how it works:
🔹 Step 1: Free 20-Minute Consultation – We’ll go over logistics, answer any questions not covered on this page, and ensure this approach is the right fit for you.
🔹 Step 2: Initial 90-Minute Session – This first deep-dive session allows me to gather your history, understand your needs, and map out a game plan with clear goals and expectations.
🔹 Step 3: Intensive Sessions – After your initial session, you’ll book a minimum of two 90-minute deep-dive sessions, scheduled either:
✔️ Back-to-back with a 30-minute break in between
✔️ Separate sessions within the same month
🔹 Step 4: Ongoing Support – Future sessions can be scheduled anytime in 90-minute or 3-hour extended formats, allowing for deeper integration and continued breakthroughs.
This is your space, your pace, your transformation. Let’s make it work for you.
What if 3 hours of therapy is too much for me?
Each 3-hour intensive includes a 30-minute break, making it a total of 3.5 hours. These sessions are designed to help you dive deep, process thoroughly, and create powerful shifts in a focused, condensed timeframe.
Through experience, I’ve found that clients gain the most from completing the full 3-hour session in one day—but flexibility is key. If a full intensive feels like too much, you can opt for two 90-minute sessions, as long as they’re scheduled within the same month.
Your comfort and needs shape the process. The pace of each session is fully client-centered, allowing me to adjust as needed to ensure the experience is effective, aligned, and supportive of your healing journey.
What are the rates for Therapy Intensives?
Investing in Therapy Intensives: Deep Work, Faster Results
Therapy intensives require more from me as your clinician—both energetically and logistically. These sessions go beyond traditional weekly therapy, often incorporating advanced techniques like visualizations and in-session somatic processing to create rapid, lasting change. Because of their depth and effectiveness, intensives are billed at a higher rate than standard weekly sessions.
💡 However, most clients find that intensives significantly reduce overall time in treatment, making them a more cost-effective option in the long run.
💰 Therapy Intensive Packages start at $1,650, which includes:
✔️ One 90-minute intake session to assess history, set goals, and create a personalized plan
✔️ One 3-hour deep-dive session (or two 90-minute sessions within the same month)
After-Hours Availability:
⏳ For sessions scheduled outside my standard business hours (Monday – Friday, 12 PM – 6 PM EST), a $150 surcharge per 90-minute session applies.
Your healing is an investment in yourself—and you deserve a space that meets you where you are while accelerating the transformation you’re ready for.
Will insurance cover intensives?
Similar to weekly therapy, I am out-of-network provider. Many of my clients have out-of-network benefits through their insurance and eligible for reimbursement up to 80%.
I am happy to check your plan and provide you specific information regarding your personal reimbursement eligibility.
If you have access to these benefits, I will provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company. Alternatively, for a 5% fee of the package cost, my billing system, Mentaya, can handle the submission for you. (Just to be clear—I don’t receive anything from that fee, aside from the warm and fuzzies of knowing my clients have one less thing to worry about!)
